After a decade of gaining invaluable experience outside the film industry, Campbell developed a strong foundation of skills and a work ethic that prepared him to thrive in the fast-paced world of film catering. In 2006, he discovered his true calling as a film chef, immersing himself in the art of crafting high-quality meals under the unique pressures and ever-changing demands of the industry. His ability to adapt and perform under tight deadlines quickly set him apart, earning him a reputation for reliability, creativity, and excellence.

By 2010, Campbell reached a major milestone in his career with the acquisition of his own catering truck, marking the beginning of an incredible journey. This venture allowed him to work on numerous productions, each presenting new challenges and opportunities to refine his craft, adapt to diverse requirements, and ensure the satisfaction of cast and crew alike. His commitment to quality, efficiency, and attention to detail became the hallmark of his service, making him a sought-after name in the industry.

Today, with a wealth of experience and countless productions under his belt, Campbell is confident in his ability to handle any challenge the demanding world of film and television presents. His passion for cooking, combined with a commitment to excellence, ensures that every meal not only meets but exceeds expectations. John Jesten

John Jesten

Head Chef

John Jesten developed a passion for food at a young age, inspired by his mother’s catering business specializing in desserts and event catering. His early exposure to the culinary world led him to pursue formal training in high school, where he gained experience working on fundraising banquets with Culinary Team Canada.

After high school, he worked in various restaurants before enrolling at Debulle French Culinary School, where he graduated at the top of his class in 1997. He gained extensive experience working in some of Vancouver’s top hotels before beginning an apprenticeship at La Rua, a renowned fine dining restaurant.

From 1997 to 2006, he honed his skills there, ultimately rising to the role of Executive Sous Chef and earning his Red Seal certification. During his time at La Rua, he had the honor of cooking for Prince William, Prince Harry, premiers, and prime ministers.

John later opened and successfully ran Chill Winston, a well-regarded restaurant in Vancouver. In 2008, he transitioned into the catering industry, bringing his strong work ethic and professional training to mobile catering trucks. Known for his friendly and respectful demeanor, he prioritizes creating a welcoming environment while accommodating the diverse dietary needs of crews and individuals. His passion for high-quality food and exceptional service is evident in every meal he prepares.

Brett Grueter

Brett, a North Shore native, was exposed to a diverse range of cuisines from an early age, sparking a deep passion for the culinary world. This passion led him to pursue a professional career in the kitchen, starting in established restaurants in West Vancouver, where he quickly built a strong reputation. To further hone his skills, Brett moved to Ottawa to attend the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School, earning his diploma in French cuisine.

Upon returning to Vancouver, Brett immersed himself in the city’s vibrant food scene, working at numerous high-end establishments. While considering his next career move, he landed his dream job in the film industry. This unique opportunity provided him with greater creative freedom, allowing him to develop and showcase his distinctive culinary style.

Brett takes pride in highlighting local ingredients and fresh seafood unique to Vancouver, blending them with a strong foundation in French technique. His style is bright, clean, and refreshing, offering a modern take on classical preparations. A firm believer in health-conscious cooking, his menus reflect his active lifestyle.

With nearly 15 years in the film industry, Brett has built a stellar reputation, earning respect for his dedication and craftsmanship. When he’s not working on set, you can find him hiking Vancouver’s mountains, paddleboarding on the water, or spending time with his two rescue dogs.

We are actively working to transition the remaining vehicles in our fleet to biodiesel, with the goal of achieving 100% reliance on this renewable energy source in the near future.
